The Probation and Aftercare Service achieves its vision and mission through the following functions:
(a) Conducting social enquiries for Courts, Solicitor General's Office, Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions and other agencies with a view to helping in decision making;
(b) Supervising and rehabilitating offenders and other persons in the community;
(c) Imparting pro-social skills to offenders and other persons in Attendance Centres;
(d) Providing institutional care to juvenile offenders and uncontrollable minors;
(e) Providing counselling and mediation to people in conflicts; and
(f) Engaging in prevention against anti-social and other problems.
