Mauritius can aspire to become a centre to promote the Hindi Language
Mauritius can aspire in becoming a centre for the promotion of the Hindi Language by conducting every year workshops to group together world renowned Hindi Scholars to share their knowledge and experience with regards the Hindi language.
This was at the fore of discussions on 16th January 2017 during a courtesy call by the Professor Dr Jingkui Jiang, an eminent Foreign Hindi Scholar from the Peking University, People’s Republic of China on the Prime Minister, Sir Anerood Jugnauth, GCSK, KCMG, QC, at the New Treasury Building in Port Louis.
 In a statement, Professor Dr Jingkui Jiang, expressed satisfaction regarding his meeting with the Prime Minister. He further conveyed his appreciation vis-à-vis the importance dedicated to the Hindi language in Mauritius whereby he added that he is pleased to note that a major segment of the Mauritian population is well-versed in Hindi.
Professor Dr Jingkui Jiang spoke of establishing cultural links between China, Mauritius and India so as to encourage the promotion of this language both at regional and international front. This, he concluded will further strengthen the triangular cultural relationship between these countries.  
It will be recalled that Professor Dr Jingkui Jiang, is at his first visit to Mauritius at the initiative of the World Hindi Secretariat in the context of the celebrations of the World Hindi Day on 10th January 2017.
